Dear Students,
In fall semester 2011 BIT Institute offers again the course 'Programming of Business Information Systems'. The object of this lecture is the implementation of common programming methods for enhancement issues of Standard Business Information Systems.
Particularly, the usage of the SAP programming language ABAP will be explained, referenced by descriptive use cases in the area of SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence. After a short introduction in the basics of ABAP, the provided APIs for the support of the entire ETL process (back end) and also in the reporting context will be exercised. Additionally best practices and performance optimizing are considered in the objectives of this lecture.
Master students of Business Informatics and Business Mathematics are the target groups for this lecture. Programming knowledge is expected. The course is offered on voluntary basis in the fall semester 2011. At the end of semester a certificate of the BIT Institute will be hand out.
The courses will be offered, beginning on Friday 23rd of September, recurrently at 10:15-11:45 am.

Sehr geehrte Studentinnen und Studenten,
Das BIT Institute bietet im HWS 2011 erneut die Lehrveranstaltung 'Programmierung betrieblicher Informationssysteme' an. Gegenstand dieser Veranstaltung ist die Implementierung gängiger Programmiermethodiken zur Erweiterung betrieblicher Standardsoftware.
Speziell soll, anhand von anschaulichen Fallbeispielen, der Einsatz der Programmiersprache ABAP im Bereich SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence vermittelt werden. Nach einer kurzen Einführung in die Grundlagen von ABAP, werden die vorgesehenen APIs zur Unterstützung des ETL Prozesses (Back-End), sowie des Reportings (Front-End) behandelt. Mit Programmierbeispielen zur Performanceoptimierung sollen weiterhin Best-Practices aus der Praxis vorgestellt werden.
Zielgruppe dieser Veranstaltung sind Studierende der Universität Mannheim, des Masterstudiengangs Wirtschaftsinformatik oder Wirtschaftsmathematik. Erste Programmiererfahrungen werden vorausgesetzt. Die Veranstaltung wird im HWS 2011 auf freiwilliger Basis angeboten. Am Ende der Veranstaltungsreihe werden Zertifikate über den Besuch der Veranstaltung vom BIT Institute ausgestellt.
Die Veranstaltungen werden beginnend am 23.09 immer Freitags um 10:15-11:45Uhr angeboten.
