Liebe Studierende im Bereich Informatik, Wirtschaftsinformatik oder verwandten Bereichen, ich möchte euch auf eine Abschlussarbeit am ABB Forschungszentrum in Ladenburg (nur 15 Minuten von Mannheim mit der Bahn) vorstellen. ======Description======== The objective of this master thesis is the development of a set of tools and method that enable domain experts to efficiently explore the waste amounts of data collected in process plants. In a modern process plant various types of data – both structured and unstructured – are produced and collected. The total amount of data easily sums-up to several Terabytes of data collected each year. The domain experts that have to analyses these data usually do not have a background in computer science, artificial intelligence or data mining and need support in interactively exploring the data in order to derive useful insights. The envisioned tool box should utilize techniques from data mining for non-experts and combine them with suitable ‘big data’ technologies such as MapReduce and NoSQL databases in order to enable interactive data exploration. ======Requirements======= - You are a fully matriculated student in computer science, business informatics, or a related field - Experience in object oriented programming (e.g. Java, .Net) mandatory - Experience in one or several Data Mining (e.g. RapidMiner, Weka, R) or Big Data software packages (e.g. Hadoop, Cassandra) are favorable - Fluent command of German or English, both written and spoken ======What we offer====== - Interesting and challenging topic, - An open, international and innovative work atmosphere, - Experience with industrial problem settings - Experienced supervisors that will help you to shape your master thesis ======When & Where======= - from now! - ABB Corporate Research in Ladenburg ======Contact========== Interested in joining our team?
