Since launching the GetSafe App for iOS and Android in mid-2015, our user base has grown quickly (50,000+) and we are looking to further expand our team. We are currently recruiting for the position of Software Engineering Intern (m/f) We are looking for a highly-motivated, detail-oriented, and driven Software Engineering Intern. Our engineering teams see challenges as opportunities: we aim to craft beautiful and scalable solutions that inspire technical innovation - both in our company and across the tech/insurance industry as a whole. As an engineering intern at GetSafe, you’ll be an integral part of our team and help conceive and implement our company’s most ambitious goals. We’ll provide the support, mentorship, fun, and real world experience needed to accelerate your learning and make a real impact on our product: you will write and ship projects to develop new features on our platform from scratch, strengthen our infrastructure, and delight our users. Your role within the team - You create real business value by enhancing our insurance manager app and platform in an interdisciplinary team - You learn to build scalable and testable frontend and backend applications using technologies like Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Heroku, AngularJS, Angular 2 and Ionic Framework - You participate in the full development life cycle (design, development, testing) of our product - You work in a small scrum team with experienced backend & frontend developers, designers, as well as product owners - You are proactive and pay attention to the scalability, performance and availability of our systems - You take responsibility to ensure successful results - You stay on top of current industry trends The following experience is relevant to us - Strong computer science fundamentals gained through your current pursuit of a Bachelor, Master, or PhD degree in computer science, math or another related field. - Experience using Ruby and/or Ruby on Rails or related technology for the backend - Experience using HTML/CSS and Javascript for the frontend What we offer - You work with experienced entrepreneurs, gaining in depth knowledge about scaling a startup - You thrive in a highly collaborative and fast-paced work environment with crazy-smart colleagues, where hierarchies do not matter but passion and drive do - Enjoy open communication and transparency within departments - You get valuable insights into company building and an industry-disrupting InsurTech startup - You work in a newly renovated and bright office that supports a healthy and ideal work environment (the gym is just around the corner) - We recharge your batteries: our kitchen is always stacked with fruit, snacks, water, and a premium coffee machine for your daily energy fix Are you interested in building the systems, infrastructure, and data analytics for one of Germany’s fastest growing InsurTech startups?
